Shadowing day!
Friday, January 13th 2012
From our viewing of US Now and discussions in class we recognize the capacity of the Internet. Infographics is a new trend in information sharing and an example of how the Internet is changing the way we think.
Each student will be assigned one of the infographics below. You will read through and analyze and then share to the class what you have learned and answer the following questions below.
Read aloud and think aloud what the text is saying (through words, images, and other graphic features) Analyze, Synthesize, Summarize, and Share what you've learned from your infographic with the whole class-for Tuesday! Be sure to answer all of these questions that apply . . . Who? What? When? Where? Why? How? and So What?
Finish our look at Infographics. Students present and describe their infographics.
Question: What's the big picture message? And how do you feel about Infographics?
What is it like to be a student today? What do you wish school was like?
Wednesday, Jan. 18th 2012
Each student compiles and describes their vision of school
What is your typical day at school look like?
Your Vision of School-What do you see, what do you do?
Consider Activity by Activity, or class by class, NOT what the teacher is doing but what you are doing
What are you ACTUALLY Doing, Thinking About, Working On?
What is most of your time spent doing, creating, focused on?
Thursday, January 19th, 2012
Now that we have our own vision of school lets discuss what our video SHOULD include...what would we "secretly" want our teachers and administrators to know. What things are working well...lets make sure to include those in our video represenation.
Collective Brainstorming-including content and what will our video looklike (shots, locations, stars)
Friday, January 20th 2012
Students will film their VISON of SCHOOL using Flip cameras-hopefully compiling all their footage and having someone (maybe Lil Zak) take it home and cut into a film.
